Sir Nigel serves as Chair of the Board and the Nomination Committee and is also a member of the Investment Committee.

Outside Just, Sir Nigel is Chairman of the Canary Wharf Group and, since 2025, Chair of Cambridge Innovation Capital. He was Chief Executive of Legal & General from 2012 to 2024, having joined as Chief Financial Officer in 2009. Under his leadership, Legal & General managed $1.5 trillion in assets, was named Britain’s Most Admired Company in 2022 and 2023, and Most Inspirational Leadership in 2022 and 2023. He was also named Britain’s Most Admired Leader in 2017.

Sir Nigel has played a significant role in national policy, serving on Prime Ministerial Business Councils, the Government’s Levelling Up Advisory Council, the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy Implementation Board, and the Science and Innovation Council. He has chaired major reviews, including the Investment Association’s Executive Pay Review and the Government’s Mission-Led Business Review, and led the Bank of England’s Climate Financial Risk Forum Innovation Working Group.

He holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Kennedy Scholar and Sloan Research Scholar, and previously worked at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He was knighted in 2022 for services to financial services, regional development and supporting several sports.

Arshil Jamal serves as Chair of the Risk Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

Arshil retired in 2024 after a 34-year career in life insurance and asset management, including 26 years with Great-West Lifeco / Canada Life. He brings extensive C-suite experience across functional and operational roles, with deep knowledge of the Canadian, US, UK, Irish and German life, pension and asset management markets, as well as global reinsurance.

Arshil has held senior board roles, including Group Executive Director of Irish Life Assurance (where he was Chair), Canada Life Limited and Canada Life Group, and served as a Non-Executive Director of Allianz Ireland.

He holds degrees from the University of Toronto and the Richard Ivey School of Business, and is a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.

Arshil currently serves on the Investment Committee at Trinity College, University of Toronto, is a Non-Executive Director of the Building Ontario Fund, and sits on the Board of the Bayview Golf and Country Club.

David was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer on 19 September 2019 at Just Group plc. Prior to this, he served as Deputy CEO and Managing Director of the DB Solutions business, and was the Chief Financial Officer of Partnership Assurance Group plc from February 2013 until April 2016.

Since becoming Group Chief Executive Officer, David has led a transformation of the business into a customer-focused leader in the retirement market. Under his leadership, the Group has pursued sustainable and profitable growth, delivering clear strategic direction and creating material value for shareholders.

Over a 30 year career, David has built deep and varied experience across the long term savings, life insurance, pensions and reinsurance sectors. He serves as a Board Member of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and Chair of its new Pension Insurance and Investment Board.

Previously, David was Group Chief Actuary at Phoenix Group, where he was a member of the Executive Committee responsible for restructuring the Group’s balance sheet and strengthening its overall capital management. Earlier in his career, he held several senior roles at Swiss Re in the UK and US, spanning both its Admin Re and traditional reinsurance businesses. David began his career at Tillinghast.

Jon Bayer is a member of the Investment Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

Jon is a Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Wealth Solutions. In this role, he oversees insurance company operations and strategy across the retirement and property and casualty insurance businesses. He is also responsible for global business development and growth through mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2021, Jon served as Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Development at a publicly traded annuity carrier. Earlier in his career, he worked as an investment banker, advising insurance companies on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Lee University.

Shashank Bhalla is a member of the Investment Committee and the Nomination Committee.

He is Managing Director and Head of Europe for Brookfield Wealth Solutions, where he is responsible for expanding the insurance platform across the UK, Europe and Asia.

Prior to joining Brookfield in 2023, Shashank worked as an investment banker specialising in advising insurance companies on mergers and acquisitions and capital-raising transactions. He has also held roles at several leading UK insurers.

Shashank holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Warwick and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Richard Faber serves as Chair of the Boards of Just Retirement Limited, Partnership Life Assurance Company Limited and Blumont Annuity Company UK Ltd. He is also a member of Just’s Investment Committee.

He began his career in finance with Chase Manhattan International Bank, joining the 1998 Credit training program before progressing into banking roles within the organisation. Richard spent the following 18 years with Ellerman Investments and its associated companies, the UK management company for the investments of Sir David Barclay and Sir Frederick Barclay. His work has focused on banking, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate. He has been involved in many of London’s most iconic hotel transactions, including the Maybourne Hotel Group, The Ritz, Admiralty Arch, Six Senses, The Beaumont, and, most recently, the acquisition of The Marriott Grosvenor Square and 8-10 Grafton Street, Mayfair, for a new luxury hotel.

Richard is also the Founder and Managing Director of Spartan Advisors.

Jennifer Gillespie serves as Chair of the Investment Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Risk Committee.

An experienced treasury and investment executive with over 30 years in financial services, she most recently served as Global Head of Investments and Treasury at R&Q Insurance Holdings Ltd. The role was to lead group-wide investment oversight, liquidity management, banking relationships and governance. Following the company’s entry into administration, she remained at the request of Administrators to safeguard treasury and investment operations during the restructuring process.

Previously, Jennifer held senior roles at Legal & General, including as Head of Liquidity (Group Treasury), responsible for liquidity strategy, regulatory oversight and cashflow management, and advising senior leadership on strategic liquidity matters. She also led the enterprise-wide LIBOR transition and represented the firm in regulatory and industry forums.

Earlier in her career, as Head of Money Markets at Legal & General Investment Management, she scaled the liquidity business to approximately £40bn AUM. She began her career at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, launching and growing global liquidity funds to £12bn AUM.

Jennifer brings deep expertise in liquidity, treasury, governance and regulatory engagement.

Frank Oldham serves as Chair of the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee, and is a member of the Investment Committee, Nomination Committee and Risk Committee.

With over 40 years’ experience in pensions and more recently insurance, Frank is an accomplished trustee, actuary and business manager. Since May 2018, he has worked as a Professional trustee and Client Director with Independent Governance Group (IGG).

Frank is currently a Non-Executive Director for a Bermudan reinsurer. He previously served as Chair of Blumont Annuity UK Ltd and remains on its Board. He is also Chair of Trustees for several large pension funds and is one of three professional trustees serving at Clara, the superfund.

Among his previous roles, he served as Leader of the UK Retirement business and subsequently as Global Leader of DB Risk Consulting and Solutions at Mercer, where he was one of the firm’s most experienced actuaries.

He has deep expertise in pension finance, risk and investments, supported by extensive experience in trustee and corporate governance. Frank has worked with some of the UK’s largest pension schemes and is known for his collaborative approach, stakeholder management skills and negotiation capability.

Across his leadership, client and trustee roles, Frank has gained substantial experience in the risk transfer market, both from a pension scheme and bulk annuity provider perspective.

Mark brings over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry across several international markets, with particular expertise in delivering growth strategies, business transformation, commercial optimisation, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to his appointment as Group Chief Financial Officer, Mark was a partner at Ernst & Young (EY), and leader of their UK Actuarial practice.

Prior to EY, Mark was a Director at Swiss Re, leading the pricing, structuring, and diligence of closed and open book transactions across Europe and USA.

Mark holds Executive responsibility for sponsorship of the Race Equality network.

Chris is responsible for the Group’s Technology, Transformation, Change, and IT Architecture, with a focus on driving innovation, enhancing customer experience, and delivering effective change.

He has extensive experience in Technology and Financial Services, having held senior roles at HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. He was also a member of the Distinguished Engineering Council, supporting industry-wide technical leadership. Most recently, Chris was Chief Information Officer for Global Retail Banking at HSBC, responsible for resilience, operational efficiency, technology strategy, digital platforms, and large-scale change delivery across multiple markets. He now brings this experience to Just Group to harness technology and innovation in support of sustainable growth and outstanding service for customers.

David is responsible for marketing, distribution and the Group’s HUB business. He leads the Group’s brand, insight and marketing activities, Group business development and is responsible for the Group strategy function. He is also the accountable Executive for all aspects of customer strategy including Consumer Duty. David holds Executive responsibility for sponsorship of the Older Workers Learning and Sharing network.

With 40 years in the financial services industry, David has operated in a number of sectors including retail banking, general insurance, personal credit, actuarial consulting and the retirement industry. He has worked for a variety of large organisations including GE Capital, Centrica, Bradford & Bingley and Hymans Robertson as well as much smaller growth businesses such as Stalwart Assurance, the business that developed enhanced annuities.

David is an Executive Director of various Just subsidiaries including HUB Financial Solutions Limited.

On behalf of Just, David is a Director of 55 Redefined Limited, a Group which delivers solutions that are targeted towards attracting, engaging, growing and retaining those in the 50+ demographic.

Alex is responsible for the oversight of risk management and compliance with financial regulation. He holds accountability, among others, for the firm’s performance of its obligations under the FCA senior management and certification regime (SMCR); conduct rules training and reporting, countering the risk that the Company might be used to further financial crime; the Group’s Own Risk and Solvency Assessment; the firm’s Compliance; and Climate Change risk. Alex holds Executive responsibility for Just’s implementation of its Sustainability strategy and for sponsorship of the Pride at Just network.

With over 35 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Alex has held roles in reinsurance, investment banking, consulting, treasury, mergers and acquisitions, and capital management. Alex is a Chartered Actuary (Fellow) of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Ellie is responsible for the people and culture agenda, and plays an active role in delivering the Group’s strategy and fostering Just’s culture of inclusion, belonging and high performance. In her role, Ellie is focused on ensuring the Group possesses the necessary talent, leadership and capabilities to meet both current and future business needs. Her remit encompasses all facets of colleague experience, including engagement, the workplace environment, development, reward, belonging and inclusion, and sustainability. Ellie is, together with Paul Fulcher, the joint Executive Sponsor for Just’s charitable activities.

Ellie has over 20 years of cross industry HR leadership experience in operational, talent, learning, engagement, organisational design and development roles. Prior to Just, Ellie has worked at companies such as BAA plc, BP plc, Volkswagen Group, ABF plc and most recently, BGl Group.

Tom is responsible for the Group’s retail businesses in the UK and South Africa. The retail business delivers retirement solutions to intermediated customers through insurance, investment and mortgage propositions. Tom holds Executive responsibility for sponsorship of the Women’s and Men’s Health and Wellbeing networks.

Tom brings a wealth of experience from the Financial Services sector, most recently holding the position of Managing Director for Canada Life’s Retirement business. In this role he was responsible for the Individual Annuity and Home Finance businesses and was a member of the UK Executive Committee.

Prior to Canada Life, Tom held positions in Ernst & Young, Phoenix Group and Stonehaven where he was Managing Director prior to its acquisition by Canada Life.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Tom is an Executive Director of various Just subsidiaries including Just Retirement Money Limited and Partnership Home Loans Limited.

Paul is responsible for Just’s in-house Investment function, and for Capital Management. He leads on the first line management of Just’s market, credit, demographic and reinsurance risks, and manages the Group Pricing function. Paul is the Executive Sponsor for the social mobility network Just Mobile, and, together with Ellie Evans, leads the Group’s charitable activities.

Paul has 35 years of experience in the life insurance industry. Before joining Just, Paul was a principal at Milliman LLP, a life and financial services consulting firm. Prior to his time at Milliman, he spent six years at Nomura as a Managing Director, overseeing their Structuring and Insurance Solutions team providing solutions to insurers across Europe. He also worked in risk advisory and capital solutions roles for the Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS, and on mergers and acquisitions in the UK and Japan for HSBC and PwC. Paul is a Chartered Actuary (Fellow) of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Pretty is responsible for the Group’s de-risking (pension risk transfer) activities, providing security in retirement for members of corporate defined benefit (“DB”) pension schemes that transfer to the Group. She also leads the DB business and proposition development for corporate pension schemes. Pretty holds Executive responsibility for sponsorship of the Diverse Abilities network.

Pretty has over 20 years of pensions and life insurance experience gained through a career in Investment Banking and Insurance. Prior to Just, Pretty was Head of New Business and Pensions at Athora, a European Insurance consolidator, where she was responsible for developing the new business franchise to support their growth. Pretty has also worked in pricing and execution for Legal and General, and insurance and pension solutions at Deutsche Bank.

Outside of Just, Pretty is a Trustee for the Mineworkers’ Pension Scheme.
